Each year, at a blind tasting of all the vats at Chateau MAUCAILLOU, Pascal DOURTHE and his teams always remarked upon the particular pleasure derived from vat number 8 (of a capacity of 53,300 litres).

This wine, from vines grown on superb Garonne gravel of particularly high quality, situated mainly at Lamarque, develops remarkable organoleptic characteristics. And so the idea of bottling this wine for some of his best and most loyal customers was born.
